IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FILING AT JP 2-1 COURT

Please call for instructions for obtaining a birth certificate (214) 643-4773. Birth certificates are $23.03 and require a cash payment with exact change.

We appreciate your patience as we are updating our court system to the online Odyssey system. Our office hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (and the office is staffed until 4:30 pm) to accept court filings in person.  The Court still encourages customers to file by mail, email or via our front drop box located in the front of the building in front of our lobby area.  Please make sure to call or email the court when items have been left in the drop box so we may located the items on the day of drop off.

You may request a web based or telephone hearing if you meet the criteria of vulnerable* population or in an emergency situation with at least 24 hour notice.

Please email or call the court for these requests.

Thank you for your patience & understanding,
Judge Margaret O’Brien

* Vulnerable individuals are those over age 65 and individuals with serious underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, and those whose immune systems are compromised, such as by chemotherapy for cancer or other conditions requiring such therapy.
