Training and Tours of the County Treasurer’s Office
The Training and Tours were organized to share knowledge and develop relationships with all Dallas County departments. By having these meetings, it was a great experience to meet each other face to face even though we've worked together for many years. For the majority of the departments, this was the first time they had come to visit the County Treasurer's office.
The purpose of these tours was so that the Chief Cashier would go over the Cash and Check Deposit Procedures with the visiting departments. The Auditor's office was also invited. By having the department's Auditor present this allowed for questions by the visiting departments, Auditor and the Treasurer's office. During these Trainings and Tours the Department's Auditor and the Chief Cashier gained more knowledge of each department's processes.
At the end of the day, these new guidelines will assist each department with their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in their daily accuracy of their deposits to the Dallas County Treasurer's office. Therefore, allowing the Treasurer's office to deposit and invest those funds faster. In addition, the Treasurer's office was able to recycle rubber bands, paper clips and binder clips saving Dallas County taxpayer money.
