    • From your online account, you can estimate your retirement benefit and explore different retirement dates and benefit payment options. For more information about planning for retirement visit TCDRS.org/Eligible.
    • You can also talk to a TCDRS Member Service Representative prior to applying for retirement for customized estimates or answers to any questions. To schedule an appointment, go to TCDRS.org/OnlineCounseling.

  1. Apply for your Pension Retirement
    • The fastest and most convenient way to apply for retirement is through your online account at TCDRS.org. You can track the status of your retirement application as well. Another option is to apply for retirement by calling TCDRS Member Services or scheduling an online counseling session.

Have the following available before starting your application:

    • Retirement date (Every department is different. Some require a 30 day notice, others required a 2 week notice. This is between you and the department.)
    • Benefit payment option
    • Beneficiary’s information, including Social Security number
    • Tax withholding selections
    • Ban information
    • Spouse’s contact information (depending on your benefit payment and/or beneficiary selection, spousal consent may be needed)
