Diabetes prevalence rates across Texas have increased by 44% within the past decade, and rates are projected to quadruple within the next 25 years according to the CDC.

Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services Diabetes Prevention Program (DCHHS DPP) was launched in 2019 as part of the CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program. The program was implemented to reduce type 2 diabetes rates by preventing type 2 diabetes among Dallas County residents and employees at risk of developing the disease. Although there are target zip codes, participants from all zip codes throughout Dallas County are eligible to enroll in the program.
