Preserve History
Lester Lorch Park was the first preserve dedicated in 1976 to Dallas County. This donation by Lester Lorch himself inspired community action that lead to the official creation of the Parks and Open Space Program in 1980. As we approach the 50th anniversary of this donation in 2026, check back with us here on the website and on social media as we make plans to celebrate the preserve that started it all!
